The Wadden Sea is an untouched part of the Netherlands. The night is still really dark here, especially at sea, making it the ideal place to admire the starry sky. We chose these weekends because not even the moon appears these nights (new moon) and you can see the stars in their full,
twinkling glory.
Program
- Friday from approx. 19.00 on board in Harlingen, reception and explanation about the ins and outs on board.
- Saturday introduction to sailing on the Red Swan. Then we sail to a suitable sandbank where everyone helps. In the afternoon there is an opportunity for mudflat walking. Our astronomer give a presenation. We spend the night at anchor in a quiet place at sea and admire the starry sky together, guided by the expert.
- On Sunday we sail back to Harlingen. All hands on deck!
On board is an astronomer who will tell you about the night sky and answer any questions you may have.
General
Food, coffee, tea and lemonade are provided by the ship’s cook. Other drinks are available on board for a fee. Unfortunately it is not allowed to bring your own drinks.
Stay on board in a 2 or 4 person cabin with bunk beds. All beds are freshly made with fitted sheets, pillows and duvets. The towels are also ready.
