Wadden Discovery Tour
Sunday 28 August to Sunday 4 September 2022
A week of sailing for both novice and advanced sailors who want to be active on a large ship. There is plenty of time and space to learn, from sailor knots to operating the sails and swords. Moreover, experience the Wadden in the best way: we let the ship fall dry on a sandbank.
Program
- Sunday from approx. 19.00 on board in Harlingen, reception and explanation about the ins and outs on board.
- Monday introduction to sailing the Red Swan. Then we sail to our first destination.
- The other days we make a sailing plan based on wind and tide. We try to visit at least three Wadden Islands, dry up on a sandbank and walk on the mudflats, spend a day on an island to cycle and visit a Zuiderzee city.
- Sunday we sail back to Harlingen, disembark about 3 pm.
We sail about four to five hours a day, the wind and current determine our travel time. There is enough time and space for other activities. Bicycle rental on Terschelling is included.
General
Food, coffee, tea and lemonade are provided by the ship’s cook. Other drinks are available on board for a fee. Unfortunately it is not allowed to bring your own drinks.
Stay on board in a 2 or 4 person cabin with bunk beds. All beds are freshly made with fitted sheets, pillows and duvets. The towels are also ready.
